Bass fishing Guide
Catfishing Guide

Charters are all year on the Santee Cooper Lake and Cooper River for Largemouth bass, Catfish and Bream, Striped bass when in season (October - December), Tournament Preparation, Scenic Nature tours and Sunset tours.

I am a U.S. licensed Coast Guard Captain since 2009 and have 40 years of fishing experience on Santee Cooper and Cooper River.

Check out Captain David's article on "The Bass fishing is on fire in S.C. Cooper River" in the September 2021 issue of the Carolina Sportsmans magazine or at Carolinasportmansmagazine.com.  He explains how Largemouth bass fishing on the river is incredible, and the great action holds up through the summer and into the fall. "The Cooper River is dramatically impacted by tides, and the bass bite will ebb and flow with  the tide, fishing success is more about adjusting to what the situation is at any given time. But fishing can be good on any tide." He explains the best tackle to use, what vegetation holds fish and specific area's that hold fish.

Cooper River Guide Service has been a proud participant in the Wounded Warrior Fishing with Hero's Bass Tournament out of Black's Camp on Santee Cooper for the 5th consecutive year. Capt. David and his Vet co-angler took first place in the 5th annual event. Cooper River Guide Service appreciates our Veterans and their families for their sacrifice.
